An interactive whiteboard, or IWB, is a large
interactive display that connects to a computer and projector. A projector
projects the computer's desktop onto the board's surface, where users control
the computer using a pen, finger or other device. The board is typically
mounted to a wall or on a floor stand.
Features of
the interactive whiteboard
• Touch
sensitive – use your finger as a mouse
• Digital
writing – write or draw using a pen from the pen tray, use the eraser to erase
• Multi-touch
capabilities – enables two users to draw simultaneously on the interactive
whiteboard surface
• On-screen
keyboard - type or edit text without leaving the whiteboard
• Save and
share your work
• Some interactive whiteboards also have a
video source input (located on the left-hand side of the pen tray) which allows
you to connect a DVD player, VCR or Handycam digital camera.
