In MS word the title bar displays the name of the program name of currently open document ,minimize , maximize ,and close button .The next line of the word window contains menu bar . The menu bar contains several menu items such as File Edit View Insert Format Tools Table Window and Help. On selecting a particular menu pad ,displays the corresponding pull-down menu .The File menu has commands to open ,save ,print file etc .The edit menu has edit the document .
The next two lines displayed below the menu bar are called tool bars .The tool bar buttons to execute commonly used word commands .
The first tool bar is called the standard tool bar and the next tool bar is called the formatting toolbar .The standard toolbar tools to open ,close ,save and print documents .the formatting toolbar contains buttons to apply formatting attributes ,such as bold, italic ,underline ,etc.
The line below the tool bar is called ruler bar .It shows the area available for typing .The window below the ruler bar is called the document window .On the right side shows the scroll bars to help to view the other parts of the document .The last line is called status bar .It displays current page ,the current position of the cursor and status of insert or overtype mode etc.
Moving the Insertion Point
Word provides several ways to move the insertion point using the keyboard .The arrow keys to move the cursor up a line ,down a line , and one character to left and right .the functions of the special keys are ,

ALIGNING TEXT
         Word provides four options for aligning paragraph te          xt: left, center, right  and  full (justify).
BULLETS AND NUMBERING
Word can easily number paragraphs or put ‘bullets’ at the beginning of paragraphs.


SPELLING AND GRAMMAR
          Spell check software has been around for a long time, but MS word adds some nice touches. A wavy red line appears under any suspected misspelled word. Right click the word to chose from a list of possible corrections. Click the correct word in the list, or correct misspelling manually.                       
HEADER AND FOOTER
          The header is a special text that is printed at the top of each page. A header in books that is used to show the title of the book or the name of the chapter. similarly, in a multi-page document also used a footer. The footer is text that is printed at the bottom of every page.    Word does not restrict the contents of the header and footer. Can show any information in the header and footer. Also, it does not restrict the height of the header or the footer.
WORD ART        

Word art to create special text effects. It is particularly useful for heading of the documents. When insert a word art object, Word displays a text box and Word Art tool bar that use to format the text.
